ఒక సమయంలో ఒక పని జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు ఒక పని జరిగింది అని చెప్పేటప్పుడు జరిగిన పనిని simple past లో ఆ time లో జరుగుతూవున్న పనిని past continuous లో వ్రాయాలి.  .ఇలా simple past- past continuous కాంబినేషన్ని Exams లో ఇస్తాడని  అని చెప్పాలి.

Clues: (when, while, the moment, as, before వాక్యంలో ఈ పదాలు ఉన్నప్పుడు మీరు ఇలా ఆలోచించండి)

    గతంలో అనగా గడచిన కాలంలో రెండు పనులు జరిగినప్పుడు మొదట జరిగిన పనిని Past perfect లోనూ, తరువాత జరిగిని పనిని simple past లోనూ వ్రాయాలి.  ఇక్కడ డాక్టర్ టచ్ చేయడమనేది తరువాత జరిగినపని. so ఇది simple past లో ఉన్నది. ముందు జరిగిన పని చనిపోవడం కాబట్టి దానిని మనం past perfect లో వ్రాయాలి. కనుక జవాబు .... had already died.

Clues: ( before, after, already when)

ఈరోజు పోస్ట్ లో మనము TENSE విషయాన్ని చూద్దాము 

కాలములకు సంభందించిన వ్యాకరణము అన్ని భాషలలోను అతి ముఖ్యమైన అంశము.ఇంగ్లీష్ విషయముగా ఆలోచిస్తే Tense సెన్స్ ఎవరికైతే ఉంటుందో వారికి ఇంగ్లీష్ దాదాపుగా వచ్చినట్లే. కాకపొతే మనము చదువుకునే రోజులలో ఈ Tense ని పట్టికలద్వారా నేర్చుకుంటాము.ఒక వరుసలో అలా పైవాక్యాన్ని బట్టి వ్రాసుకున్టూ పోతాము. ఇంగ్లీష్ మాస్టారు అన్ని కరక్టే అంటారు. కారణం అవి కరక్టే గనుక.కాని మనము TV చూస్తూనో, వేరే ఎవరితోనో మాట్లాడుతూ కుడా పై వాక్యాన్ని చూస్తూ వ్రాసామని మీరు మరచిపోకూడదు.

                            మిత్రులారా..మీరు పట్టికలు ఆధారముగా Tense నేర్చుకొని సాదన చేయడం తప్పులేదు కాని నిజజీవితంలో మాటలాడటానికి ఆ సాధన మాత్రమె సరిపోదు.వాటిని మీరు ఉచ్చారణ ద్వారానే Practice  చేయ వలసి ఉంటుంది.అది ఎలాగో తరువాత చూద్దాము. ప్రస్తుతం   Tense కి   సంభందించిన  Basics తెలుసుకుందాం.

                   *********     TENSEs 

ఒక పని జరిగిందా,జరుగుచున్నదా, జరగబోవుచున్నదా లేక ఏ పరిస్తితిలో వున్నది తెలియ జేయు verb యొక్క రూపాన్ని TENSE అంటారు. Tense అనే పదము లాటిన్ లోని tempus(time) నుండి పుట్టినది.

ఇంగ్లిష్ లో ముఖ్యముగా 3 Tenses వున్నాయి.

  (1) Present Tense (2) Past Tense (3) Future Tense మరియు ప్రతి ఒకటి కూడా నాలుగేసి రూపాలను కలిగి ఉన్నది... i) Simple ( or Indefinite)...... ii) Continuous (or Progressive)......... iii) Perfect......     iv)Perfect Continuous

Tense ల వివిధ రూపాలు, ఉపయోగాలు

PRESENT TENSE

i)Simple Present: (a) అలవాటుగా చేయు పనులు లేదా తిరిగి తిరిగి చేయు పనులను తెలియజేయడానికి

       Ex: He never wastes his time, I go for a walk every morning, She wears Khadi sarees

                               (b) సామాన్య సత్యాలు,నిత్య సత్యాలు, సామెతలు చెప్పడానికి

      Ex: The Sun rises in the East, All that glitters is not gold, Every river flows into the sea

                               (c) ఒక పరిస్తితిని, నమ్మికను తెలియజేయడానికి.

       Ex: India is the largest democratic state in the world, We believe in democracy

                        (d) ఒక నిర్ణీత పధకము ప్రకారము సమీప భవిష్యత్తులో జరగబోవు పనులకు

      Ex: We go to the cinema tonight, The bus arrives at ten O’clock, When does she come?

ii) Present Continuous Tense: (a) ఖచ్చితముగా మనము మాటలాడుతూ ఉన్న,లేదా వ్రాస్తూవున్న    సమయములో జరుగుతూ ఉన్న పనులను తెలియ జేయడానికి

         Ex: It is getting dark now, I am giving you a lesson in grammar, You are reading this example.

        (b) సమీప భవిష్యత్తులో జరగబోవు పనులను తెలియ జేయడానికి

         Ex: I am visiting the exhibition tonight, He is arriving here tomorrow

iii) Present Perfect Tense: (a) ఇప్పుడే అంటే మనం మాటలాడుతున్న సమయానికి ముందే పూర్తి ఐన పనులను  తెలియజేయడానికి, Ex: He has just gone out, He has given me the book now.

iv) Present Perfect Continuous Tense: గతంలో ఎప్పుడో ప్రారంభమై,ఇంకా కొనసాగుతూవున్న పనులకు

     Ex: She has been waiting for the bus for two hours,He has been working here since 1990

PAST TENSE

(i)simple past: గతంలో జరిగిన ఒక పనిని తెలియ జేయడానికి- సాధారణంగా ఇది గతకాలాన్ని,సూచించే adverbs, adverb phrases తో ఉపయోగించ బడుతుంది...... Ex:I saw him yesterday, I learnt Tamil in Tirupati.

(ii)Past Continuous: గతంలో ఒకానొక సమయంలో జరుగుతూ వున్న పనిని తెలియజేయడానికి ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.

    Ex: We were watching the TV all evening yesterday,… The wind was rising then.

(iii)Past perfect Tense: గతంలో ఒకదాని వెంట ఒకటిగా జరిగిన రెండు పనులను తెలియజేయునప్పుడు ముందుగా జరిగిన పనిని సూచించడానికి దీనిని ఉపయోగిస్తాము. తరువాత జరిగిన పనిని Simple Past లో తెలుపుతాము.

   Ex: When I had finished my work, I went home,*  I had written the letter before he arrived

(iv)Past Perfect Continuous Tense:  గతంలో ఒకానొక సమయానికి ముందే ఎప్పుడో ఒక పని ప్రారంభమై ఆ సమయం వరకు ఇంకా జరుగుతూనే వుంది అని చెప్పడానికి ..అలాగే గతంలో ఒక పని జరిగిన సమయానికి ముందే మరొక పని  పని ప్రారంభమై అంతవరకూ కొనసాగుతూ వుంది అని చెప్పడానికి కూడా ఈ Tense ఉపయోగిస్తుంది.

Ex: At 8 O’clock last night I had been reading for 2 hours

     When I saw him, he had been waiting for his friend over half an hour.

FUTURE TENSE

(i)           Simple Future:  భవిష్యత్తులో జరగబోవు పనులను,భవిష్యత్తు గురించి ఊహలు, సందేహాలు వ్యక్తం చేయడానికి దీనికి ఉపయోగిస్తాము. Ex: I shall see you tomorrow, He will be thirty next year,  Perhaps she will come

(ii)          Future Continuous: ఎలాంటి ముందు నిర్ణయం, పధకం లేకుండానే భవిష్యత్తులో ఒకానొక సమయానికి ఒక పని జరుగుతూ ఉంటుంది అని చెప్పడానికి ఈ Tense ఉపయోగ పడుతుంది..దీనికీ Present Continuous కీ కొంత పోలిక ఉన్నప్పటికి భేదం కూడా ఉన్నది..........I am seeing Mohan tomorrow అన్నప్పుడు మాట్లాడే వ్యక్తి, మోహన్ మరునాడు కలిసేందుకు ముందుగానే ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్నారన్నమాట.  I shall be seeing Mohan tomorrow  అన్నప్పుడు వీరి సమావేశానికి ముందు నిర్ణయం ఏర్పాటు ఏదీ లేదు.

(iii)         Future Perfect: భవిష్యత్తులో ఒకానొక సమయానికి ముందు ఒక పని పూర్తి అయివుంటుంది అని చెప్పడానికి

( Furure Time కి ముందు By అనే Preposition సాధారణంగా వస్తుంది) Ex:  I shall have completed my work by the end of next week., He will have been six years at the school by next సుమ్మెర్

(IV)      Future Perfect Continuous:  భవిష్యత్తులో ఒక చెప్పబడిన సమయానికి లేదా ఒక పని ప్రారంభం కావడానికి కొంతకాలం ముందే వేరొక పని ప్రారంభమై అంతవరకు కూడా జరుగుతూనే ఉంటుంది అని చెప్పడానికి ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.........Ex.. By next July we shall have been living here for four years.
